Husband of Scarborough aide who died in 2001 speaks out about Trump's conspiracy tweets: 'It's just inhuman'September 8, 2020
The widower of a onetime aide to Joe Scarborough, the former congressman turned MSNBC host, told Yahoo News in a series of emotional interviews that the conspiracy theories about the death of his wife promoted by President Trump on Twitter and embraced by the devotees of the QAnon conspiracy cult have caused inhuman pain and anguish for him and his late wifes family.
It got to the point that I literally could not stomach this, T.J. Klausutis, an Air Force engineer, said in exclusive interviews for a new three-episode season of the Yahoo News podcast Conspiracyland. Titled A Death in Florida, the Conspiracyland series explores the circumstances surrounding the July 2001 death of Klausutiss wife, Lori, and how they triggered nearly two decades of conspiracy theories, first pushed by liberal bloggers and more recently adopted and turbocharged by Trump and his allies.
Ill use the term suffering, quite honestly, Klausutis said about the impact of the steady barrage of social media postings, complete with malicious and demonstrably false claims, about what happened to his wife. And nobody, and I mean nobody, should have to be used in such a fashion. ... Its just inhuman.

But Twitter has yet to take down Trumps tweets about Lori Klausutis a stance that continues to infuriate her husband. A medical autopsy found that, while working in the Fort Walton Beach, Fla., office of then-Rep. Scarborough in 2001, she died in a tragic accident caused by an undiagnosed heart condition. The local police found no evidence of foul play.

(25,965 posts)where it was acceptable to openly accuse Scarborough of involvement in the death of this poor woman. He was referred to as dead intern regularly. I hope were over this conspiracy theory on DU.

(11,686 posts)Did make similar statements of suspicion in regard to the Scarborough aide's death. BartCop (God has him now) in his day and others did. I have to say I did not repeat it. They gave into thoughts there maybe was more to the story. There wasn't: It was just a tragic death.

(17,398 posts)Yes, he cast aspersions about what happened to Lori Klausutis. However, that occurred in the summer of 2001, when the main stream media was breathless in it's coverage of Gary Condit and the disappearance/death of his intern, while Scarborough got virtually no press at all, and Bartcop was very vocal in pointing that out.
An aide dying suddenly in a congressman's office should normally be huge news, regardless of the circumstances.

(11,686 posts)If so, Ole BartCop was pretty convincing in making me believe it a suspicious death. Thanks for the clarification. I really miss Terry.

(22,041 posts)I find him to be unwatchable because he never shuts up. He consistently talks over his guests and co-hosts and it's clear he loves the sound of his own voice.
BUT HE DIDN'T KILL LORI KLAUSUTIS!
He wasn't even at his office when she died.
Jeez.
