Massive wildfires in Oregon. Eugene, Oregon has the worst air quality on Earth right now

We are all being told to stay indoors because the air quality is so bad from the surrounding fires. Most businesses are closed. We are staying alert for any sudden evacuation orders on the outskirts of town. Ash is falling from the sky and accumulating on the ground. It looks like nuclear winter here.

We live on a hill in Eugene. Visibility is about 2 blocks (short blocks, @15 to a mile). It's scary. Shrike47 Sep 2020 #9

peoli, my heart breaks for you!

I live north of you in central Washingron. We are having huge fires here, too. Right now, Oregon - beautiful Oregon - is in the bullseye.

I have no words. Stay safe!

It.does feel like the end, doesn't it.

Lost our home in a giant wildfire in our rural valley surrounded by national forest in 1994.
Renewal took time.

Holding you in my heart.

Yes the university is closed down but I think they are doing remote learning this year

There should be photos all over the internet if you search Oregon fires

I had to walk dog one more time and I didn't wanna. Rain, middle of winter, no problem. People walking, running, riding bikes all day long. Yesterday, even the dog walkers weren't out.
