The founder of the pro-Trump super-PAC Black Americans to Re-elect the President has predicted that Fox News personality Tucker Carlson will stand for president in 2024.
Tucker Carlson will be the Republican nominee, former Republican candidate for Congress Vernon Robinson said in an interview with The Independent. He added that Carlson would solidify America First and continue Trumps legacy, and that he would be happy to help Carlson campaign if he did decide to run. Were not in the crystal ball business, were in the changing objective reality on the ground business, and it looks like some of that reality is changing, he added.
If I have anything to do about it, I will try to create a draft committee to make sure there are shock troops organized, Mr Robinson said, adding that when he ran a campaign for now-Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Dr Ben Carson, we had over 39,000 volunteers who did 900 events.
There has been mounting speculation over the summer that popular TV host Mr Carlson might stand for the presidency if Trump wins a second term in November. Hes a talented communicator with a massive platform. I think if he runs hed be formidable, Republican strategist Luke Thompson told Politico in July, when ratings showed that Tucker Carlson Tonight had become the most-watched cable news show in American history.

(12,712 posts)Oh, my! Sure, let him run against Harris if that's how it goes.
That's pathetic and yeah, scraping muck off the very bottom because it happens to have a fictional TV show again.

(9,959 posts)... Trumpsters adore Tucker... more than Laura or Sean. They also love Don Jr... more than the other family members.

(490 posts)The Republicans love without discrimination any showbiz type who spouts their brand of bullshit and will vote for them indiscriminately for whatever office they run for, regardless of qualification. They might as well rename themselves the TV Party.

(3,635 posts)hits all the white nationalist notes, is a rich white dude trying to play populist by railing against the 'elites', etc. Even some alt-left whites (Glen Greenwald, Krystal Ball, etc) seem to view Tucker as 'anti-establishment' type 'speaking hard truths' lol.
Could see the Trump base eating it up. Who is going to stop them in the GOP primaries if they decide to support Tucker?

(11,949 posts)After 2 decades of talking about the demographic change in America affecting politics we are finally starting to see it this cycle. Actually we saw it in 18 as well but did not realize it. Those suburban women. They arent all Lilly white anymore. Will it be enough this year? Maybe, but not guaranteed.
But by 24? If the republicans keep going trumper they will be swamped.

Oops. Uh-oh.
Never mind.

All he can do is whine about things that make him cranky.
