Could trump after admitting he lied to the American people about this virus ,

Be sued in civil court for those who got it at his rally's , or other functions , and for those who died? He intentionally had rally's after knowing how deadly this virus was , and promoted it was a hoax. Wouldn't he be liable for the damages he caused?

of Federal government have nearly total protection in this regard and as President, he has even more. The intent was for Congress to impeach and remove on such matters. So, we are F>>>cked.

Hasn't a president been sued before in a civil matter ? After he leaves office?

which is what the Trump Org and tax litigation is all about. Federal immunity covers his official actions as President. By official actions, that does not exclude states later charging him for campaign finance violations that break state law once he is out of office (e.g., Stormy Daniels related issues for example) because those were not actions reflecting his OFFICIAL capacity as President. But, everything related to COVID-19 response is within his OFFICIAL capacity as President (with the possible exception IF a case could be made that he'd corruptly diverted Federal COVID funds to his own companies or something of that nature, but that would still be more likely to end up in Federal court).
