I am angry with Bob Woodward. Why did he wait until now to talk about all this shit?

Why did he watch the pandemic worsen in just the US and say nothing?

Why did he let Trump do nothing?

Why did he watch the death toll rise?

Was he more interested in selling books than in being an honest reporter?

He is a neocon who helped cover for the Bush Administration.

But to attack him now is to do Trump’s dirty work.

I'm more concerned about the fucking piece of shit that knew how deadly Captain Trumps is, and let tens of thousands of people die, just so he could downplay and try to look good for an election.

You actually think, that people would have started wearing masks, stayed home, socially distanced because of a book? Really?

He could have sway public opinion and potentially saved many lives. He could have prevented Trump blatantly lying to everyone in front of camera while pushing no mask and reopen everything as if COVID isn't real. I am not saying Trump will make a 180 and suddenly support mask wearing or not reopen. But the public opinion will be even more against Trump and Trump would have to give in some. And that little difference might have saved lives.

He failed and he is reasonable for that part of the blame. Of course, that doesn't mean Trump and the GOP aren't responsible for most of the blame.

I'm no Woodward fan. He had an obligation. He did. Using his book/tapes to attack Trump is OK by me. While at the same time never forgetting what Woodward didn't do.

But Trump's share of the blame is ever so much greater. Trump, his WH, the GOP in Congress, and their (Trump/GOP) moronic supporters.

Get Trump, first - and then get all his enablers. Regardless of their so-called motives.

It is hard to give that up. One could justify it that some expert certainly would convince Trump to tell the truth about COVID before it was too late. Perhaps Woodward thought he could get more important info from Trump and knew divulging it earlier, the access would stop. Anyone with half a brain knew by June (and many earlier), Trump royally fucked up with COVID response.
Coming forward with some info after the last interview would have been better, but then Trump probably would have sued to delay everything in court.

I also think it may have taken a while to work on the material and produce a good book. Just releasing the tapes six months ago would have led to some chatter, but releasing them as part of a campaign to publicize a book means that media are going to pay a lot of detailed attention to it, and also that the story will last more than one news cycle.

I get that people are angry, but I'm not.

There is also a lot of other information that is revealing regarding trump compromising our national security that would have been lost if those interviews were cut early

Why did no one in the administration or the Congress (who were certainly briefed on the matter, enough to see stocks) including DT do anything. Woodward is a journalist and author, he does turn the switches in government.

Why are people blaming the messenger? Trump didn't come up with the knowledge himself, he was briefed on the virus. So a lot of people knew and had this information early.

There is so much stuff happening in the U.S. and around the world that the news cycle is spinning like a hamster wheel with a hyperactive hamster.

People have short memories.

I'm NOT saying that Woodward purposely delayed releasing this information in order to benefit the Democrats. I'm sure the timing didn't occur to him.

But I think it works out to be nice timing for Biden and Harris.
