Trump, lying to his supporters (and they cheered)

I listened today to a few minutes of Trump’s rally in Michigan.

He told the crowd:

“Before I became president, all Japanese cars were made in Japan.
They’d build the cars there, put them on boats to ship to the U.S., and sell them to Americans.

When I became president, I flew to Japan and told them,
from now on you have to build automobile plants in America.
The next day five Japanese auto manufacturing plants opened in Michigan!”

And the crowd roared with approval and “FOUR MORE YEARS!”
……………….
I googled, and found Honda opened the first Japanese auto plant in the U.S. in 1979.
Toyota built their first U.S. plant in 1986.

A HUGE FUCKING DIFFERENCE!!!!!

So when we hear the Dems need to reach out with them, enlighten them, the response has to be BULLSHIT!

And here is why it is important.

They vast majority knew it was bullshit, but the vast majority are filled with hate and wimps.

So they get a guy to stand up and basically yell, FUCK EVERYTHING ELSE, ESPECIALLY THAT BLACK GUY, YOU CAN THANK ME FOR THAT! YOU CAN THANK ME THAT IT IS ACCEPTABLE TO BE A RACIST ASS IN PUBLIC.

It is not an issue of education, it is much deeper. They are exactly like the NAZI's and the enablers in Germany. If tRUMP started seizing assets of registered Dems, they would cheer. Calling them stupid plays into their hands and will be met with, you are full of shit!!! Do you really think that if you broke them out one on one and asked if foreign automakers had US plants that the majority would get the answer wrong?

They want to belong to a hate club, they crave the support of a large group, and most importantly, they are enemies to all Western Democracies and must be viewed as enemies.

they have to, otherwise their complete existence is negated. They believe him because they hate people of color and foreigners. Most of them live in the country, and when I say country I mean waaaaaaasy out in the boondocks. The only POC they see are on the TV. Of course education wasn't on their "list of things to do" either.

In 1982, I lived in an apartment complex in Columbus where a lot of my neighbors were Japanese workers at Honda. Every morning, a big van pulled up and they all piled in and went to Marysville, about 45 minutes away. Every evening, they were dropped back off at the complex. I’m not sure they spoke English, and they really didn’t try to socialize with their neighbors. But that was 1982, and the traitor tot had nothing to do with it.

They are not interested in reality because reality is confusing, dark and depressing.
Trump tells them fairy tales that make them feel like reality doesn't exist so they can feel good.

That's all they follow him for.
Feel good talk.

They may know it's a lie but it makes no difference because it makes them feel like they are part of the good, winning team and that's all they want from a president.

they just listen to the cadence and keywords. Don't forget he has plants throughout the event to be section cheerleaders. They're already in a stupor and the section leaders scream 4 more years and the followers follow. They get to spew hate and know that their leader is number one hater and it's all good for them.

Donald Deathtoll lies with such ease, and they lap it up. They really are stupid.

BTW, South Korea has been building cars here for a decade or two, and Mercedes opened a plant in the SE somewhere more than four years ago.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_automotive_assembly_plants_in_the_United_States

Forget the ludicrous suggestion that Trump was able to get the Japanese to complete five auto plants (which take years to build) in Michigan in one day's time. The reality is neither Asian nor European automakers produce cars in Michigan. The closest they came was when Mitsubishi sold rebadged Dodge Dakota pickups, Isuzu sold rebadged Chevrolet compact pickups and Mazda sold rebadged Ford Rangers and Ford Probes.

As to Trump's other claim:

Honda has made cars in Ohio since 1982 (they made Gold Wing motorcycles in this plant from 1979 to 2009, when they moved production of the bike back to Japan.)
Nissan has made cars in Tennessee since 1983 (the Smyrna, Tenn., plant makes 640,000 cars a year, the highest production of any car factory in the US)
Toyota has made cars in Kentucky since 1988 (the Georgetown, Ky, plant is the biggest Toyota factory in the world)
Subaru has made cars in Indiana since 1989 (Subaru has five factories, and the only one not located in Japan is the Lafayette, Ind., plant)
BMW has made cars in South Carolina since 1994 (the Greer, S.C., plant is the biggest BMW factory in the world)
Mercedes has made cars in Alabama since 1997
Hyundai has made cars in Alabama since 2005
Volkswagen has made cars in Tennessee since 2011

It's not that Trump is lying through his teeth on this. Trump lies when it would be easier to tell the truth. It's that this is such an easily proven lie.
