My email to an Amazon seller.... How did I do?

Have a big birthday party coming up, and so I went off to find party favors. I love Amazon, so began there. After discovering what I wanted, and placing multiple orders in my cart, I looked to see what else the seller had. This is the email I just sent:

I need 144 Iron Maiden pinbacks for a birthday party, and so I found your listing which appeared perfect - I added these items to my cart: http://www.amazon.com/IRON-MAIDEN-Pinback-Buttons-Badges/dp/B003MC4Q7G and then went to see what else you were selling. I was taken to a page listing political buttons you sell - and most all of them were either Republican or Romney/Ryan pins. No big, I thought to myself, I am certain this seller doesn't limit his merchandise to one political party... I was wrong. So, for what it's worth, you lost my business. Partisanship is destroying this country, and in the instant case - it cost you a HUGE sale.

Just thought you might care.

So, how did I do? Oh, and does anyone know where I can get 144 Iron Maiden pinbacks real quick?

TIA!~

If the seller is A & T Designs you may find that you didn't look at enough of their 16,000 buttons.

The Romney stuff probably comes up first becase it was added most recently (?) I don't know how they are sorted, but the seller definately carries both pro and anti Obama buttons.

as in nada. Unfortunately, I didn't (don't) have the time to search any particular seller over multiple pages of listings - I tried though.

If they respond that I am wrong, I will do a mea culpa, and go from there. Thanks for pointing this out.

Since new arrivals are listed first there's like ten pages out Romney crap that is the most recent batch of stuff, but the very newest arrival is:

I agree that if you start clicking through their inventory right now it does lot like the Romney store. But it's amusing that so much of the Romney stuff didn't come in until September 2012.

If I limited my business or commerce to only those who share my political views, I would be limited myself. In the end, you want a product and you found the product. The profit will fund a business - and one who you actually know little about from their merchandise list on one web site.

The point I was trying to make to the seller was that partisanship in business can cost sales - in the instant case, mine. After searching through multiple pages of the sellers listings and doing a boolean search as well, I was unable to find political material for sale that covered ALL American political parties.

It's been pointed out to me that this seller does in fact sell other political parties materials. I now owe the seller an apology. This time I'll spend a bit longer composing my email. Thanks for your reply, I appreciate your input.

have listed Dem posters and buttons or Rep posters and buttons. Click on the link. Amazon made it hard on themselves listing it the way they did.

Iron Maiden is my son's all time fav band. His 40th birthday party is next Sunday (200 people!!), and the pinbacks are part and parcel of the celebration. My son was at both Irvine and SF at the Shoreline. He has traveled all over the US and World to see this group, and has made friends with like minded people from around the globe. He's spent most of his adult life tied into the music industry, so 99.9% of the shows he attends are comped... sweet! Oh, and he is, of course, a member of their fan club, has met all members of the group many, many times, and even shared a pint with Bruce Dickinson. He has tons of pics on his Facebook page taken with the group, as well as countless others (major Ronnie James Dio fan! too. He's had a great ride so far.

He was 13 years old when he put up his first Eddie poster, lmao, I thought he was posting Satanic crap and made him pull it down. He soon taught me otherwise.

Speaking of teaching, he credits IM with his decision to become a History teacher. The bands stories of the ages sparked his curiosity, and the rest, as they say, is history.

He is 40 today. My baby is a man. A wonderful, caring, heavy metal loving example of human goodness. And I am very proud of the man he is. Thanks for letting me share, today of all days!

should act. What a great example of civil discourse wherein one party has made a mistake or were ignorant to some key bit of information. This mistake was gently pointed out and when the real facts where known the problem was courteously resolved. Kudos.

Now if only....well I will leave it there, if only.

I could have been clearer, I should have made myself clearer. The first page of buttons this seller has listed weren't just partisan (partisanship in and of itself is normal political behavior), they were extreme to the point of ugly viciousness and untruths. I should have pointed this out in my letter and here on DU. That is what I was objecting to, and I failed to make that point, period. As such, it appears as if I made a shallow decision not to buy from this seller, and that was not what I intended to do.

Common sense is often lacking in Melinda land. I'll send another email to the seller clarifying and apologizing yet again. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
