1. Personally, I'm not as upset with Mitchell as so many here are.

The biggest complaint here is that she takes what guests say at face value and often refuses to set the record straight with damning follow-up questions.

That's true, she asks the interview questions and generally lets the person put their chips on the table without debate. This is what actual reporters do, including the White House pool (Chuck Todd). Then they let the pundits and fact checkers loose on their reported statements.

An interview that includes counter statements by the reporter is not an interview, it's an argument.
