When the town of Belmont, Mass., needed money, it put a parcel of land up for sale to raise funds. Integra Medical Properties approached the town's Board of Selectmen, seeking to purchase the land to build a residential-style hospice facility. Tagg Romney left his father's campaign in August to head to Belmont and implore the board to prevent the facility from being built.
In the video, Tagg Romney expresses concern for property values if non-residential properties are allowed to be built and suggests that he and other residents may be forced to seek property relief if the property values on their houses decline.
What Tagg Romney only briefly mentions is that he also bid on the land when it first went up for sale. That time, he wasn't so opposed to non-residential buildings, as he and others were hoping to build a Mormon Temple. But other residents objected and Mitt Romney spoke up in favor of the plan.
In the case of the Romneys, it appears that when a religious facility for your faith goes up in the neighborhood, it's a win. But when a facility that benefits others is to be built, it's a drain on property values. Tagg's ultimate motivation for fighting the hospice proposal remains unknown; whether it was a sudden change of heart on the question of non-residential usage of the land or just plain spite even when the losers in this equation are terminal patients who want to die in peace.

Do you know who the clown is? The scary evil character "IT" from Stephen King's novel of the same name (and movie of the same name).

LOL.. I am not familiar with IT but I understand a lot of people

end.

(2,921 posts)are forever barred from getting what they want.
Belmont should say "Fuck you, Tagg, and fucking move if you don't like what we're trying to do" - and give the land for the hospice.
Hell, build it in smack dab in the middle of Romney's properties, after eminent domain seizure in the name of public needs.
Oh, and all hospitals and hospices should forever bar Rmoney from getting assisted care.
Oh, and zero support from the medical or the nursing community when it comes to Rmoney's turn for their needs.
Rmoney will have to pay tens of millions just to get someone to look at his acne on his ass now.
Rmoney's personal doctor should resign effective immediately.

(262 posts)Tagg you're it! Beyond disgusting...
Anyone who has been to a hospice to be with loved ones, know how dignity & peaceful loving care resides in these special places. Hospices are a good place to see spirit in action! I have been able to help friends pass over & the warmth, love, and dignity are second to none. I am not religious, but I am spiritual. Hospices bring out the spiritual in all of us...believers or not...it's all good there. (shout out to "Our House" in Portland, OR.)
People like the Rmoney's need their gated communities...that way they can stay away from those who don't want to be near that kind of cold callousness that they all exude! I never thought I'd say this line but "you people" are the coldest most manipulative uncaring family that I've ever seen running for the highest office in the land. Tagg is a product of his thumb your nose down at all but those like themselves. Sad shit.

Must have been a throw-back gene from a parent back in the pre-flight to Mexico times.
Or perhaps the sociopath gene skipped a generation with George.

(692 posts)Complain about sick, dying people having a decent, comfortable place to DIE, because of the property values might go down? It's not a fuckin half-way house! These people have no souls!! I don't care how much they "give" to charity...they're a bunch of sociopaths!! And, I don't think the good deed counts when your church forces you to give a certain percentage of income. Charity should come from your heart and soul and it should be about kindness and compassion. These assholes don't seem to have been born with either trait!
