If Trump really believed that the absentee ballots were hackable,

he would have supported all the measures that tried to strengthen the integrity of the vote. But he didn't. And it's plain to see why. If anyone is going to try to hack the vote, it will be his supporters. And he needs the open doubt to gaslight this election all the way to the Supreme Court.

He cannot say to himself or the public that he lost. He may privately be relieved that he lost, but it is unacceptable to have it said about him. Jimmy Carter will build houses, George Bush will do paintings, Trump will spend his post-presidency screaming, "I never lost!"
