Forget the polls. This election can be stolen.

Given Romney's incompetence, Obama should win by a landslide. But given the GOP's voter suppression tactics, and the fact that voting machines' software belongs to companies that want Republicans to win, we'll be lucky if Obama can squeak out a win.

Election night is going to be nail bitting time. If Romney "wins," we'll know it was stolen. And if that happens, I really don't know what we'll do. Talk of taking to the streets and "revolution" aren't realistic. The police will be ready for it.

Do you think they can steal it? And if so, what do you think we can/should do about it?

2. Have voters record their ballot numbers (everyone has one). In case there needs to be a re-count

voters can demand to see the results and flood the poll demanding to see their particular vote. Am I wrong about this? If there are no paper trails the computer software can still be tested by neutral parties to see if any programming switched votes. i think the Justice Department should do a pre-emptive injunction for all voting machines. Actual polled voters are overwhelmingly for Obama and if the outcomes are off everything should be on the table to review.

MSM's attention. I do really think that if the current numbers hold, they couldn't be so bold as a theft - it is Dem likely voter issues that has me worried - so much potential blocking and disenfranchisement that is going on.

6. Both sides are gearing up for a massive poll watch.

This was talked about in earlier threads. Anything official would tip off the opposition, since forewarned is fore-armed.

"...Voter-protection teams, as Bauer and the campaign call them, have been working in battleground states since the beginning of 2012. The teams are tasked with monitoring local election laws and regulations and reporting any "shenanigans" or other potential problems through the chain of command. They talk with election officials about voter requirements and other regulation changes that could confuse voters.

The campaign is also asking lawyers working with the voter-protection teams to volunteer as poll workers and poll watchers so they can monitor the process.

"On the ground, every day, this is taking place," Bauer said. &quot It) involves Chicago, Washington and all of the states that are involved in this effort."

The campaign created a website, Gottavote.org, to help voters know what's required to vote in their states. Another site, http://ofa.bo/victory, allows volunteers to sign up as poll watchers for the Obama campaign.

Conservative poll watchers are also mobilizing. True the Vote, a Houston-based, tea party-backed voter integrity group, aims to train 1 million poll watchers..."

the 'skewed polling numbers' meme by repubs is going to be used to justify stealing the election. they already did something similar in ohio in 04. after they rig the count, they say 'see, we told you the polls were wrong'

Also, one has to consider that we have 50 different elections. That's a lot of theft.

So stop this insane They're gonna steal it shit. The election is not close. No theft in sight.

Now get out there and work your tail off to make sure we take back the House and keep the Senate. (And, if you are worried, make sure that they cannot steal it.)

Sheesh!

Voter suppression in a few key states is all they'll need. You can't count votes that people were prevented from casting.

Do you mean like PA, with a double digit lead by President Obama? Or, maybe FL, with a near double digit lead? Nota bene: if FL goes Obama, there is no path for Romney to win 270 EVs.

Please look at reality here.

This election is not going to be close. President Obama has many paths to 270, Romney has very, very few.

This year the stolen election meme is deader than a Tyson chicken.

it will be near impossible to steal a Romney "win" and spin that the polls were horribly wrong.

There are only a couple of Repub funded polls that show the race being close (and President Obama has the lead in those as well).

10. Statistical detection of systematic election irregularities
Wed Sep 26, 2012, 11:04 AM

In the graphs above, Russia '11, Russia '12, and Uganda show strong evidence of cheating in the election (the rare districts with about 100% turnout also voted about 100% for the winner). This is strong, easily understandable, visual evidence of cheating. There is a write-up on this statistical technique at phys.org.

A lot of people in the US have suspected cheating in recent elections. I don't believe that election cheating in the US would be of this ballot stuffing type. I do wonder if similar techniques could check for irregularities that provide evidence of cheating in the presidential election. I'm thinking of things like late pre-election polls and/or exit polls versus reported results. Then, in election districts with anomalous results look for commonalities (e.g. using Diebold voting machines). Maybe this type of checking is already done, but, if not, I think it would be worth implementing. If we have strong, visual evidence of cheating, the people won't stand for it. The Democratic Party could probably come up with this type of analysis.

11. You can't realistically switch 10% of the vote.

It's possible to shade the edges in a very close state, and we have seen that done, but it is not possible to flip numbers like Ohio and Pennsylvania are currently showing. No one trusts Repukes less than I do, but that would require a Stalin-like level of control across an entire state, and it ain't gonna happen.

don't have the needed IDs and can't get them in time. Our governor and Republican legislature have done as much as possible to suppress the vote and it may be just enough.
