And maybe this is EXACTLY the escape hatch he was looking for

Now he can withdraw and say “my work is done here,” and slink away in what, to his way of thinking, is “honor.” He can say he accomplished more in one term than any president accomplished in two, and if you are talking about destruction, he has a case.

He will now be able to resign for “health reasons,” and have Pence pardon him, Barr, Stone, etc. Pence will be so busy signing pardons, he won’t have time for much else before Biden’s inauguration. I don’t know if there is any legal basis for them to postpone the election, but THIS may be why they were in such a hurry to get their very own stooge on the Supreme Court ASAP. Sure, MAYBE they didn’t know this ten days ago. And MAYBE he will be awarded the Nobel prize for literature, too, but I have my doubts in both cases.

It's because of his ego that I think any resignation comes before the election DFW Oct 2020 #2

Trump could pull this scheme AFTER the election too so it makes more sense for him to wait until after election and use COVID as plan B if he is not re-elected.

A lot are speculating that this is all a lie but I don’t think so for a few reasons 1) too many leaks from the WH house so it would get out. 2) Trump’s ego is too huge to admit he succumbed to COVID, 3) if he wants to be pardoned by Pence, he just retires after the election.

He doesn’t want to retire with a “1 and 1” record, but rather as “undefeated.”

I’ll think the same, that his ego won’t allow him to risk being defeated, but then I flip back to his delusion not believing he can lose. So who knows! He likes chaos so may risk defeat (after all, there is still a minuscule chance he wins—in his delusion mind a big chance), if he loses he just claims it was rigged and causes massive chaos which would make him happy “serves them right, and look at all my people protesting for me”.

So who knows? He’s insane.
