Is This Really Good News?

I'm not sure that President Trump's infection is necessarily good news for us. I keep thinking that he may gain sympathy votes. Anyone else see this?

In any case, let the herd immunity begin.

On Edit:. You all need to get out of your bubble. No, I don't think that there are Biden voters that would vote for him out of sympathy. I'm referring to low information voters... The undecided voters out there. I need to quit posting here.

are immune. As for trump he has been minimizing the virus, makes fun of masks, etc, this event has completely discredited him

Not good news for him for sure

Why are we assuming she gave it to him, or anyone.

The whole damn West Wing might be a COVID pit.

and cut out their silly political games over mask wearing. That could be very good for the entire country if it happens.

Wanna bet we start seeing a lot more mask wearing by White House staff starting tomorrow?

But with his months long against any COVID prevention, I don't think there is much sympathy.

A potentially-fatal illness is never good news, on a human level. I would hope we're better than our adversaries in recognizing that.

Beyond the human element -- forget it. At times like this, there is only the human element. Politics can come later.

with Covid will now decide to vote for him because he ends up getting something he said was a hoax ? I can see maybe people having sympathy but to vote for him for President because he has it when they were not going to do so before ?

I'm sure his supporters will have sympathy but they were going to vote for him anyways.

but it's certainly not unexpected - the stupid asshole has been downplaying covid and acting like everything is normal - well, he can't do that now, can he?

200,000 people have died because they don't care.

Save your empathy for those who deserve it.

This is a time to be tactical.
