"2 Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if you are to judge the world, are you not competent to judge trivial cases? 3 Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the things of this life!"

I think Justice Ginsberg has rendered her first verdict.

How are we supposed to feel sorry that a man who is in the process of dismantling our democracy is in mortal danger, especially when he mock others for wearing masks and try to protect themselves.

If it was anyone else, I'd say go so or easy. With Trump: bring it on!

I hate when people throw out "karma." If karma is real, then a baby that dies a horrible, painful death deserved it. And that's gross.

It can stretch across lifetimes...but you'd have to accept to concept of reincarnation. As a Buddhist, I do. We do not think that life is a "linear" concept, i.e., you're born, you live, you die, done. We look at life as an upward spiral...there's simply too much to do to be able to acheive enlightenment (aka Heaven, Nirvana, etc.) in one lifetime. So we come back to live a (hopefully) better life. But the stuff we put out into the universe in a past life can jump up and bite us in the ass at any time. My late husband was a decent, honorable man. Why did he die of an incurable cancer when a disgrace like Trump is still walking around? Why do those innocent children die when pedophiles exist? It's not always about what someone does in this lifetime.

Peace.

I get it. I just don't like it. And I don't like the additional argument that even if someone is horrible and getting good things now, they will get punished later. Sure.

Peace to you, too. We disagree, but I respect your right to your beliefs.

"I do not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it"
Attributed to Voltaire.

And to be perfectly frank about it, I've never been crazy about the "sin now, pay later" angle either. But back when I was a Catholic, I"m pretty sure that's what hell was all about. And Limbo? Don't even get me started.

I don't wish Trump particularly well. I won't say that I want him to die, though both of my grown children said that first thing.

But I will say this: The guy is an insane traitor who has brought this nation to its knees in three short years, and, irony of ironies, he caught the same virus he called a hoax.

Let what should happen happen, and then let's roll up our sleeves, WIN this election decisively, and begin trudging the long road back.

Yes, it's a funny joke. But no, it's not, really.

Jews don't believe in an afterlife. It's why "RIP" or "Rest in Peace" is equally inappropriate, regardless of intent.
