I think the best thing to do is have a thread working up and down the board, in conjunction with the two threads that EarlG has been kind enough to pin at the top of the board.
Here's the deal - I know some of you must live in Ohio, and some of you must live in Florida. Or perhaps you live in a state that borders Ohio or near the Panhandle border.
If you look at the two threads pinned to the top of the board:

We're desperately trying to get folks active and volunteering in these two states.
There are only FOURTEEN DAYS LEFT to register voters in these two states. Particularly in Florida, most of you know the efforts the Republican state government has gone through to hamper voter registration. In both these states, voter suppression is the lynchpin to any Republican strategy for victory.
There is probably nothing you can do in this campaign that would be more valuable than getting out to one of the key spots in Ohio or Florida (and I've laid out all the key locations in the pinned threads at the top of the board) and putting in some hours doing voter registration. Not making calls (which is great), not giving money (also great), not sitting around hoping for victory (an understandable emotion, but not so effective).
I'm going to tell you, straight-up, that the response has not been so great so far.
We've got three volunteers, total, from the first five days of this crucial nineteen day effort. Now don't put that down, entirely. Three volunteers still make a huge difference. They are three more than zero, and five or six total days of work from those three volunteers - believe me, as a former organizer, every last hand on deck makes a difference.
I can't make it to an Ohio or a Florida this time around (although I will be down in Florida close to election day, it looks like), and if you live there, or near there, and can volunteer, you're stepping up for every one of us here at DU who live too far away and are watching those states with great worry and hope, hoping that we can fight the Republican voter suppression machine and fight to victory.
So what I'm saying is that three people is great, but man, I would love to see some more people step up. I'd love to work with some more people.
I'm now in touch with people on the ground in these two states, and ready to start ferrying DUers to the front line of this fight for our democracy.
I need your help. We need your help.
Please, if you're thinking about it, if you think about it and realize you can spare a weekend day, or a week day, or an afternoon, if you're on the fence, please go ahead and do it. It's great if you want to go directly through the campaign, and I can help with that if you need some guidance, or it's great if you're ready to do that on your own, and it's also great if you want to be connected with the campaign and set up with some volunteer work, which I am ready to help anyone and everyone with.
There will be more work to be done after OCTOBER 9th - but we've only got until October 9th to register voters.
Please consider it. Please get involved. Please help us right the wrongs that state government in Ohio and Florida have done their utmost to set in motion - we - we the people can overcome their efforts, by pushing back with our own weight.
These are days for action. Thank you.
