You are not being just like them. (A rant)
My entire life I have had to listen to conservatives who don't even know what a conservative is. When you boil it down, they hate liberals and the definition of a conservative in their mind reduces down to those who hate liberals and liberal policies.
Every sin they have made up for liberals they have committed in multiple versions and ignored. Reduced to the basics, they hate liberals because liberals are soft. Soft secretly translates to racially tolerant, kind to the unfortunate, and willing to listen to the truth.
So when a conservative or a republican says, "Gosh, you folk are mean," ignore it. They are used to our side forgiving them while they get to keep spewing hatred. They are not arguing with a desire to find truth. They are just trying to score points for their team. That is the bully's edge in an argument. They don't seek truth, they seek hurt.
Trump is responsible for an unprecedented number of deaths. He has caused them, and anyone who expresses a feeling of justice served is not being just like him. They have not killed two hundred thousand people without consideration.
A man I respect said to forgive a man 7x70 times. Since 7x70 equals 490 and 490 is much smaller than 200,000, I would argue that a certain level of desire for justice is more than justified. These conservatives have been praying for evil to fall on decent folk for all the years I have lived and more. Don't listen to their accusations of cruelty. They don't respect people who listen, apologize, or care.
(I would argue that the only way to convert these folks is to get them away from the cause of their addiction, listen, and care, but this is a rant and that argument is off topic.)
Small government cannot fight COVID-19. Small government cannot rein in climate change. Small government cannot remove the excessive influence of sociopath billionaires. Supposed supporters of small government have never gone against corporate power, wealth, or welfare. They have spent more of our nation's shared coffers than big government supporters ever have. Look at national debt when they are in charge. These folks are not responsible with money. They have spent more and bragged about being tight with money while doing less good for our nation with all the money they have spent. Until a conservative realizes that his team is wrong, evil, and mistaken on everything, they are still on the side of evil.
Keep in mind that these are the ones that call others animals. These are the ones that have been calling liberals traitors. These are the ones that cannot support their policies without lying. Till their eyes are open and they can even see their need to repent, don't consider their opinion worth a moments doubt.
