I have felt even before Covid that if something caused his death, he would be a martyr etc.

(58,785 posts)If not discouraged, these resurgent-fascism types would grieve righteously for the loss of their great leader, decide the Democrats murdered him, and look for a new, more competent one. And we know the various dangerous and traitorous right factions always have plenty of those eager for power.
My hope is that Trump gets good and sick and has a miserable recovery, enough to reveal him to be the loser fool he really is -- and to spotlight his, and the congressional Republicans', depraved indifference to the lives of all Americans. Now, right before the election, is a great time for it.
Fingers crossed for America.

(884 posts)I too want to see Trump pay for his crimes and indecency, but even MORE important than the groups he has marginalized and targeted seeing their fellow Americans RESOUNDINGLY reject him, his policies, and those who enabled him...
For the sake of democracy ITSELF, he must not only suffer defeat, but TRIAL.
Make no mistake, if Trump's brazen defiance of not only basic decency but of LAW, in naked self-interest and anamice, is not met with HARSH consequences, that is the permanent end of America's greatness, not merely the suspension of it we have suffered these last four years.
