But see -- this is "early" in the process. If he had no other exposure before that Saturday event, then it could take up to 2 weeks to incubate if he got any kind of viral inhalation. So he'll need to keep testing (and not the "rapid tests" ) for at least another week.

I know some quarters whine about any "effectiveness" of a face shield but hell, when you are in an environment with "teh stupid maskless", then "something" is better than "nothing".

Close proximity, indoors, no masks. Almost certainly those front and center outside were the ones invited inside.

A lot of people sitting outdoors at the front rows got infected. Covid clearly transmits outdoor too.

although you are correct that being outdoors is no more safe than relying on negative tests.

My point is that the front row seats are generally reserved for the "important people" who are also more likely to be invited inside (and more likely to be hanging out near each other inside since they all know each other better than they know the "riff raff" who are seated at the back for an extended period in what was described by close quarters. Being seated in the front rows also means likely to have been in side.

By the same token - we know the ones in the front rows who are infected because they are the folks media deems more important - family, high-ranking members of Republican party or the administration. There may be others from farther back who are also positive, but just not being reported since they aren't "important enough"
