Put on your tinfoil hats, y'all.

I think what I'm about to propose sounds like a conspiracy theory.

During the wee hours this morning I was lying in bed trying to sleep, but my mind was churning. I was thinking about the orange con man's infection and what they're saying is being done to treat it. I was trying to think positively, optimistically, and I thought that maybe something good will come out of this, that maybe the experimental treatments they're trying on him will work, and that will be a good thing for all of us in terms of developing effective treatments against the virus. That thought was followed immediately by a very disturbing one: Wouldn't that help the orange con man in the election? Even enough to get him re-elected?

That thought was followed by this one -- and this is where the conspiracy theory comes in -- what if that's his plan? What if he didn't really test positive for the virus? What if all of this is a ploy to aid in his re-election? What if, a scant few days after the debate that polls suggest was not good for him, he went immediately to a Plan B, so to speak, which is to fake a virus infection, take experimental drugs, "recover" miraculously, and claim to have come up with some miraculous treatment against the virus?

Make America Great Again! Keep America Great! Four More Years! Woo-hoo! Our great and noble president has just used himself as a guinea pig to find salvation from the virus for all of us!

I wonder if the timing of this is suspicious. Just a few days after a debate that did nothing to fix his sagging numbers, this happens. And by the time this scenario I'm describing has all played out, it will be Oct. 30, or perhaps Nov. 1. Not enough time for his bogus drugs to prove to be worthless, but enough time to put him just across the finish line in just enough battleground states to put him just over 270 electoral votes.

Might this be his October Surprise that is just now beginning to play out?

this theory is not very plausible.
In addition, I think he would balk at any ploy that made him look weak, and getting Covid would make him look weak.

I'm only surprised it took this long.

He would never choose to appear sick or weak. He's always making fun of weakness.

the frigging lying and obfuscation daily over the past 4 years, who knows? There is certainly reason to suspect this might be a hoax. We shall see I guess. But with the new info this morning, I personally doubt it’s the plan. tRump is more likely dealing with somewhat serious symptoms from the sound of things this morning.

However there are far too many people testing positive and there would have to be tons of other people in on the lies from a man surrounded by people who leak to the press. I wouldn't put it past him to try to do something like that, I just think at this point there are way too many players for that to be plausible.

Think it through and consider how many people would have to be complicit in that all the way to Walter Reed, etc.

How many people do you know that can even keep a simple secret? The more you think about it, the more that conspiracy breaks out of its own bounds and the complications and effort to pull it off could become more evident and insurmountable.

Trash it.

10. That would require too many people

and moving parts to work. You would have to get Dr's nurses and other medical personal to go along with it. As well as all the other cases in their circle popping up. Including their medical personal. The white house staff will all have to keep their mouths shut. There is one thing this WH is not good at is keeping their mouths shut. Of course we would have to wait for them to write a book to find out. Along with the recordings. But find out, we will.

IOW's to pull something like this off you would need too many people and people love to brag.

the news first broke that he tested positive.

And it's utter nonsense. Especially given that so many people around him are testing positive and getting sick.

This is as dumb as the other theory being posted on DU that he'll be put on a ventilator on November 1 to really gain sympathy and win the election.

He's an obese 74 year old who never exercises, can barely walk 100 feet in the best of times, and has almost never worn a mask or social distanced. The real surprise is that it has taken so long for him to get this.

I'll take off my tinfoil hat for now.

However, I'd like to point out, while there would have to be quite a few people in on the secret, as several of you have noted, it would have to be kept for only a short time. It wouldn't matter if somebody spilled the beans on Nov. 4.

And I'm hoping we'll all keep it at the back of our minds for the next four weeks just in case it plays out just as I described. Be watchful and ever-vigilant, because that con man is capable of stooping to ANYTHING to get another four years.
