look up and see what it involves. Unless the cabinet and vp agrees, there is nothing. even if they do and its contested we would need 2/3 votes in both house and congress, more than what was needed for impeachment.

2. Do you mean why is it not being invoked?

I can think of several reasons. So far he's just not that sick and is still able to do whatever it is he does that passes for work as President. Although he does not seem to be doing his usual twitter shitstorm -- I'm not on twitter myself so I don't actually know if he's gone invisible there.

Another is that he is actually very sick, but those around him, staff, the Cabinet, high ranking Republicans, are not willing to let that be known by invoking the 25th amendment. Perhaps they don't trust Pence in some way, feel that can't control him, or fear he will start doing things (I have no idea what) that they wouldn't like.

We can't trust that we will get timely and accurate updates on his condition from Walter Reed. We can only hope that there will be plenty of leaks about his actual condition.

Of course, keep on eye on flags at the Capitol. If they start being lowered to have mast that will tell you what you need to know.

5. I've been pondering if it's even possible to invoke the 25th at this point in time.

The problem and why the Amendment was introduced is the case where the President is alive in the legal sense and incapacitated to the point where he/she is unable to perform their duties for an extended period. The Vice-President can not automatically assume the office until the President has been declared legally dead. So it left this Schrodinger's President situation where the person is not dead, but, is also unable to be President in any reasonable manner.

I'm troubled that this is the direction we're currently headed. Who at that point is in charge? I can see the callous Republicans like Moscow Mitch wanting this to happen. As much as he's been co-operative in their machinations. They are still having to work around Trump in many ways. Plus, his overall tendency to turn everything he is actively involved in to crap poses embarrassing and difficult problems for the MEN behind the curtain.

So, what is going to happen should Trump become more of a self-propelled brain stem than he already is?

I don't know.

6. Fear that Pence will not give the powers back?

Fear that invoking would be an admission that the entire administration has been negligent in their handling of the whole pandemic?

My own unsubstantiated theory is that Jarvanka are planning to quietly run things behind the scenes while Dear Leader is incommunicado. Like Edith Wilson did, but without the brains or regard for the country. (Fun factoid: Edith Wilson was a descendant of Pocahontas)
