(5,645 posts)I believe the Dr said he was getting IV infusions of Remdesvir for next 5 days.
There would most likely be a port or something and he would not be in a suit.
Oh well, it is just speculation...seems odd and he looks just like he did yesterday, sans tie.
I guess when your president you can leave your room without a mask even though you are in quarantine.
Maybe it is all just a ruse.

(81,599 posts)It includes an intensive care unit, a kitchen and a secure conference room. White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows has his own office space in the medical center, and there are sleeping quarters for the White House physician to be present 24/7 during the presidents stay.
If Trump requires specialty care the White House physician cant provide, prescreened specialists whose background checks are already done are available to the president.
Walter Reed administrators do not have unrestricted access to the suite.

(5,645 posts)Just seems odd that a patient who is getting IV infusions for the next five days is seen with no IV or port and in a suit in a room that is obviously not part of his suite.
And he is not wearing a mask, so he is ambulatory without a mask, while contagious with Covid...
Just seems odd or it is all a ruse and he does not even have Covid.

(26,647 posts)Ambulatory just means he can walk. Doesn't mean he's leaving his suite.
I appreciate paranoia as much as the next person, especially these days, but I don't see anything out of order here, apart from the fact that he's actually president.

(5,645 posts)So I guess if your president you can leave your quarantine space and walk around without a mask and just go where you want.
Sorry, I put my tin foil hat on too tight tonight...I should take it off now and go to bed. Long day in the garden I may have got too much sun.

(26,647 posts)He's also said he has an office there for him to work out of. Work being watching Fux News.
Sorry, I don't see anything suspicious here.

(5,645 posts)The press photo says it is in his suite when picture was taken. That is all I am trying to get my head around as the white cabinet decor is not in any room of the suite.
I'll take the hat off now and take some aspirin...probably got too much sun today.

(37,162 posts)...does not mean the new video was not taken at Walter Reed. It just means we can't identify the room where it was taken.
Walter Reed has plenty of rooms, plenty of places where they can put flags and a table for a photo op before wheeling him back to bed.
Presidents usually get what they want, and for the ones who don't it's because they have self-restraint and are willing to listen to experts. Those are qualities Trump is devoid of.

Perhaps the white was intentional to look like the White House
But Yashars wording is a bit harsh
Not like most people know of a new building (which has never been photographed!) nor have access to former secret service agents

(5,645 posts)The press release said the picture was taken in his suite.
It was a mistake. Ok. I'll change the title of the op then.

(9,124 posts)As part of a Base Realignment and Closure announcement on May 13, 2005, the Department of Defense proposed replacing Walter Reed Army Medical Center with a new Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC); the new center would be on the grounds of the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, seven miles (11 km) from WRAMC's location in Washington, D.C. The proposal was part of a program to transform medical facilities into joint facilities, with staff including Army, Navy, and Air Force medical personnel.
On August 25, 2005, the BRAC Committee recommended passage of the plans for the WRNMMC. The transfer of services from the existing to the new facilities was gradual to allow for continuity of care for the thousands of service members, retirees and family members that depended upon WRAMC. The end of operations at the WRAMC facility occurred on August 27, 2011. The Army says the cost of closing that hospital and consolidating it with Bethesda Naval Medical Center in suburban Maryland more than doubled to $2.6 billion since the plan was announced in 2005 by the Base Realignment and Closing Commission.

(5,645 posts)I was going by the Press release where they said it was in the suite.
It was not the suite. It was the METU.
