Barrett upheld law that required girl to obtain consent from raoists' guardians to obtain abortio

AMISH brothers who gang-raped their 12-year-old sister but avoided jail time allegedly broke court orders to stay away from the victim.

Aaron, 22, and Petie Schwartz, 18, earlier this month plead guilty to two counts of third-degree child molestation with a child under age 14, according to the Webster County Citizen.

The Schwartz brothers' plea deal included 10-year suspended prison terms, with five years of probation.

"These two young men would’ve been eaten alive in the state prison system," Webster County prosecutor Ben Berkstresser said.

However, on Friday a motion was filed to revoke the pairs probation after they were accused of "having contact with the victim of the crime, after signing the sex offender supervision agreement that prohibited contact with the victim," according to the Springfield News-Leader....

The sister became pregnant as a result of the rapes and gave birth earlier this month at just 13 years old.

Her brothers' crimes in Seymour, Missouri, became known after she saw a doctor about her pregnancy, and the doctor informed police.

The teenage girl then told law enforcement officials that she was sexually abused by her four brothers.

"One of the brothers is the father of this child," Berkstresser said.

"But within the Amish community that primarily lives in the Seymour area, [the Amish] don’t see the authority we have to do anything to them. This was a tough case to prosecute."

It is not known which of her brothers got her pregnant.

But nothing worse COULD happen to them than what they put this CHILD through. (I'm counting the forced birth as another form of rape)

And now grandparents to the baby she gave birth to. I haven't read about it, but their daughter has not been removed from their care, it's the two oldest boys who were removed from the household, and very likely they will seek custody and raise their grandchild while their daughter grows up.

There are real reasons to oppose Barrett, she's a RW extremist legally and socio-religiously, very unrepresentative of general societal beliefs, but belief in the responsibility and rights of parents to make important decisions regarding their children's wellbeing, in protecting the family from unwarranted and inimical interference by the state, and in protecting the right to hold personal beliefs, is definitely not confined to far right/religious extremists.

Also almost universally supported is belief in the imperative for the state to step in to protect children when parents fail to.

In any case, looks like the local system is working. When the child's doctor discovered she was pregnant, the authorities were promptly notified and investigated and acted.

As for the Amish community, the "difficulties" referred to are political and social, not legal.

And who protects the child when their own parent(s) are the rapists?!
Btw, no child should be forced to remain pregnant-it is extremely damaging both physically and emotionally. The US might as well be the Middle East. Fuck forced birther Amy Covid Barrett.
