1. Good point about seniors

They certainly have seen enough presidents, good and bad, to recognize how off-the-wall Trump's behavior is. Trump is losing pretty much every demographic.

4. I was talking to someone yesterday who is always talking about her grandkids

I never talked politics with her so don't know where she stands. She is just an older woman I see at my work at times.

She told me about a new grandchild she had but hasn't been able to see in person. I think she thinks the parents are worried about the baby getting something but I told her they are probably more worried about giving her something.

But it was sad becsuse I could tell she felt hurt. I wonder how many others are feeling this same way.

With age comes wisdom, then came the 2016 elections and seniors voted for Trump, and I wondered what caused them to become d*#n fools.

It would seem that a lot of them have wised up in the last month or two.

Social Security and Medicare no doubt jolted some to reconsider their support.

8. Speaking as a senior...

Speaking as a senior, that's a major part of it, but there's more.

I'm healthy and fit and had an active social life before the pandemic. Now, instead of spending my "golden years" with friends talking and having coffee, going to the gym, exploring interesting shops and museums and wildlife preserves, going to club meetings with people of common interests, instead of all that I'm spending a significant part of whatever years I have left going to the kitchen alone to decide whether to have another cookie or another glass of wine. My friends who are caring for spouses with cancer and various other diseases of aging can't safely have visitors and won't even be able to have funerals if they die. And I'm reluctant even to go to a grocery store because some MAGAt maskhole gun fetishist may start screaming and spitting in my face. And even so, since I'm a retired senior, I'm one of the lucky people who even has the option to stay home in my kitchen with wine and cookies. Fuck Typhoid Tubby and the MAGAt Klan he waddled in with.

This is a fairly short post but it took a long time to write it; I've done "preview" at least ten times as I edited it. The more I thought about it, the angrier I got. Fuck Typhoid Tubby and his MAGAt Klan of miscreants, grifters, dumfucks, hate mongers, Klansmen, Nazis, death spewers, and moron Fauxbots who think that quacking armadillos on Faux News know more about science and disease than scientists and doctors.

11. Not surprising. Republicans aren't even offering seniors table scraps anymore.

Now they offer seniors total annihilation - herd "mentality", destruction of ACA, and elimination of SS payments by 2023. With a platform like this for seniors it shouldn't take them too long to figure out they are the target of this Republican Party.
