Especially if the chest imaging is showing damage to his lungs, which it sounds like has occurred, at least to some extent, based on the evasiveness of his doctor answering questions about it.
Trump may be fortunate enough to survive this, and his team will continue to try to prop him up with as strong an image as they can muster for him, but I think he'll be pretty much out of commission at least until the election, and likely be dealing with serious damage to his body for the rest of his life.

Even mild cases can be pretty serious.
He has existed on a diet of fast food, he is morbidly obese, and will not adhere to medical advice or treatment.

(32,017 posts)I know two people, long-termers, who picked up the virus in March. Neither one can walk 100 yards without feeling like an elephant is sitting on their chests. Thats heart damage.
And for them, at least, its not getting better.

(4,846 posts)than the Trump team is leading us to believe. So I think you are right. He is, at the very least, going to have a long battle ahead of him with COVID. And severe COVID cases tend to leave a long term health impact.

(4,846 posts)I think 2 of them are specifically only used for severe COVID cases and has no benefit or actually is harmful if they have a mild case according to WHO, CDC and other studies. The drugs he took are not for preventative or mild case usage.
