Those with right-wing co-workers, family, etc... are they obsessed with numbers?

I've noticed lately that both my right-leaning co-worker and my nutso inlaws are increasingly obsessed with numbers and statistical measurements, whether for their own things or when it is the "other side" i.e. us, that is being weighed.

1. No interest in sports, yet tracks the tv ratings of the (his words) "BLM infested pro sports" games.
2. Derides polls as fake-news driven, yet trumpets the alleged bump in Latino and black Trump %'s.
3. Obsessed with crowd numbers, for Trump's rallies, protest turnout, Biden/Harris speaking engagements.

I get a constant barrage of numbers and measurement, daily.
