NJ-02: Party Switcher In New Jersey Trails

A new Monmouth poll finds Amy Kennedy (D) leads Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R) in New Jersey’s second congressional district, 49% to 44%.

Among likely voters in a high turnout scenario, Kennedy holds a 50% to 44% edge. She maintains that lead in a lower turnout model with 51% supporting her to 44% for Van Drew.

Van Drew was elected as a Democrat but switch parties last year.

I donated to Kennedy's campaign a couple of weeks ago and will do so again. Looks like we can flip this seat back to blue!

It’s fascinating: she looks and sounds like she could be Jack Kennedy‘s grand niece but she’s married to a Kennedy, not descended from one. She’s a solid candidate and I think she’s going to win in this rather conservative area. South Jersey has always been home to right wing lunatics, but it has gentrified somewhat over the years. We shall see.
