I signed up to be notified about the status of my ballot, when it is mailed, when it is received, and when it is accepted.
I did this specifically because our mailboxes have been broken into (I even bought a locking mailbox). Regardless, I wanted to make sure I got it and not some thief.
If your state or county offers this, I highly suggest you sign up for it. I just went to the Secretary of State website for my state (for California it is https://www.sos.ca.gov - then select Elections and that is where I found the sign up for it)
Here is the email I got:
Hello (Nictuku) ,
This is a message from County Elections. Your ballot for the upcoming 2020 General Election has been mailed to you. Normal delivery time is 5-7 business days.
If you are a military or overseas voter, your ballot should have already been transmitted to you.
Questions? Call (xxx) 253-4322 or email elections@countyof(mycounty).org.
Visit https://www.countyof.org/396/elections for election information.

25+ minutes to get in. Only one brave, competent worker out of 3 stations. (She was extremely pleasant)
DeJoy needs to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law when we reclaim our government.

All in all, about as painless as it could be (except for the paper cut on my tongue licking the envelopes). Granted, the whole county only has a population of about 100,000, so it's probably a little quicker here than in metro Atlanta. No complaints here, though.
