The Trump administration is prepared to make a roughly $1.8 trillion offer to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) as it has begun to urgently seek a new economic relief package just three days after the president declared negotiations over.
Covid Relief Negotiations are moving along. Go Big! President Trump wrote on Twitter Friday.
One of Trumps top economic advisers, Larry Kudlow, said on Fox Business Network that Trump had just approved a new package, and that Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin would be speaking with Pelosi hopefully to put the final touches on this.
The gap is narrowing. The bid and the offer, if you will, has narrowed significantly, Kudlow said. And, therefore, in Wall Street terms, there may be a trade for some additional assistance for the American recovery from this pandemic contraction.

(1,896 posts)We have to end this pattern of lessening demands repeatedly for empty promises. With Trump now a thing of the past, let's face it he will never hold the powers of the office again, nothing will change in the Senate until January.

(61,650 posts)Pelosi and the House Democrats have wanted a new relief bill for months. It's the Republican-controlled Senate that won't pass it.
Making the House bill bigger and better just makes the Senate's inaction more obvious, gains more headlines, reminds the voters that Republicans are the ones blocking their relief checks.
Proceed, Mr. President. Add more socialist programs to the bill!

(16,172 posts)the GOP standing in front of faux news and saying "Due to the amount of money spent to keep the economy moving we have to cut the entitlement programs, and the largest are Social Security & Medicare".
"Think about the debt and our children"
I'd no more trust the GOP than I would a wounded viper in a dark closet.
