George Takei
@GeorgeTakei
Press, don’t play false equalizer. Don’t treat the question of court unpacking, as I like to call it, the same as veiled threats about election intimidation and post-result violence, dangerous misinformation about Covid-19, and Trump’s tax crimes. Don’t Hillary this crap again.

of or like this. The Rs are actually using the “threat” of court-packing as reasons they are pushing confirmation of Barrett and why people should vote R. By its silence, the press legitimizes them ... as usual.

pushing, ignores the FACT that it is Congress that decides if they want to increase the number of justices on the SC. Sure, the President would have to sign such legislation, but it would not even get to the president's desk unless passed the legislation. The question is purely hypothetical because of the variables involved

It also ignores the FACT that the republicans are going back on their reasoning to not consider President Obama's nominee to the SC almost a year out from the GE.

Sorry illustrious press, this isn't on the Biden or the Democrats, this is on the hypocrisy of the republicans, and false equivalency of many in the press

And the federal courts as well because McConnell held up federal judge approvals in the Obama administration and outright stole Merrick Garland’s seat.

If Democrats choose to expand the Court, it will merely be balancing it to reflect the majority views of the US population versus the views of only 20% of the population.

The GOP "it's a fine thing if we stack the courts. But unfair if the Democrats even "think" about it.

This despite the fact that Republicans have only won the popular vote once in the last 30 years.

The Supreme Court should definitely be readjusted to reflect the population of the U.S.

Until I watched Face the Nation this morning.

The trump surrogate did nothing but bring up this issue regardless of the question they were asked. Brennan finally had to cut her off.

Yet talk radio still somehow manages to fly below the national media radar. In large part, that is because media consumption pattens are segregated by class. If you visit a carpentry shop or factory floor, or hitch a ride with a long-haul truck driver, odds are that talk radio is a fixture of the aural landscape. But many white-collar workers, journalists included, struggle to understand the reach of talk radio because they don’t listen to it, and don’t know anyone who does.

they need to be able to read it or it will never be factored - maybe that's what AI can do for it soon

when that happens they'll lose a lot of advertisers

Thats a ton of reach.
I cant see how it would be that high though, because it would be likely that every show already inflates their numbers in public talking just to make themselves look better. If it was even HIGHER they'd be crowing it from the rooftops

Notice how the republi-CONS are now whining about how horrible it is that Democrats are packing the courts????

Um, EXCUSE ME???

DEMOCRATS are packing the courts?????????

Look who’s talking!

DAMMIT! I wish the media would call this out, and even just POINT THIS OUT, instead of trying to maintain this pretense of being “objective” when the FACTS and the TRACK RECORD demand more truth-telling - and debunking bullshit “claims” from this thoroughly SOILED and PERVERTED White House.
