After all the shit Abbott and co are pulling in Texas with drop off boxes. I've decided to forget taking my ballot in and will vote early this Tuesday in person instead. I'm not taking chances of my ballot getting thrown out if my signature is off a little.

(7,947 posts)My state has 6 early vote days. I'll drive by and go in when no one else is there.

(10,156 posts)Full 17 days of being able to vote. But I'm getting it done first thing Tuesday morning before work.

(53,061 posts)The campaign will start calling and door knocking on Dems who haven't voted. The more people vote early the fewer for the campaign to follow up.
Thanks for voting early.

(14,487 posts)I am voting the moment early voting starts, for 2 reasons.
#1 - Because I just WANT to vote so badly that I can't wait another moment!!!
#2 - So that if I get hit by a bus on day 2, my vote will already have been counted.
Now I have a 3rd reason! And I am sharing this info with others. Thanks!

(31,261 posts)In Florida, you dont get an in person ballot unless you surrender the mailin ballot. You should check Texas procedures with your County Registrars office.

(10,156 posts)I'm sure they'll just discard it for me at the county annex.

(10,156 posts)So if it's on there, then I'm good. I got three forms of ID lol
State, Driver, and Permit.

(31,261 posts)You seem to have listed sufficient ID.

(25,526 posts)The election judge will need to cancel the ballot that was mailed to you. If you already filled out your ballot, the judge will also do a similar process.
Include everything that they sent to you. (I'm not an election judge, but I'm a precinct chair, so this is what I tell everyone)
I'm in Texas too.

(10,156 posts)The county annex will more than likely discard it for me.

(25,526 posts)You can still go to election HQ and turn your ballot in.
Tarrant and Harris both have drive-in drop offs. Those drop offs will continue. You must still show your ID and turn in your ballot yourself.
It isn't safe or practical to have drive in-drop offs where I live in Bexar County. (HQ is downtown, with a small parking lot and wedged between an on-ramp and railroad tracks)

(10,156 posts)One of the most conservative voting districts in America. The drop off box is in Canyon, TX which is about 20 miles from me.

(28,811 posts)water, a place to sit if the line is long, and plenty of time. My son insists on voting on election day whereas I have already voted, taking my ballot directly to the BoE. I worry about him, and you. Check in after and let us know your experience!

(10,156 posts)Our city has two counties split in the middle of it. Likely it'll be non busy.

(10,156 posts)It was about three days before the midterms and we went to vote. It was still pretty bare. City of over 200k people and it's like deserted most of the time.

(28,811 posts)but! I think this year will be different, and i certainly hope so. We need a landslide.

(28,875 posts)I took my ballot there last Tuesday. No problem.
However, voting in person is also a good option if
you're careful.
I suggest wearing both a mask and a face shield.
Take antiseptic wipes for everything you touch.
