Ted Cruz just said nobody can be NOMINATED as a SCOTUS judge if the president and the Senate are held by different parties. Not confirmed, nominated. Game, given away.

I'd say unbelievable, but sadly it is both believable and predictable.

Even when THEY are running the show, because their idea of bi-partisan is "do it our way or we'll accuse you of playing partisan politics with important issues". They are shameless.

the repubs have taken a sledge hammer to, like this no SCOTUS noms in an election year unless it's a republican president, or the way McConnell can just refuse to put any House bills up for vote. This kind of obstructionism is BULLSHIT & needs to stop.

The only way we will be able to fix what is broken is to have solid majorities for more than two years. Hopefully, this time Democrats will realize they have to vote in the mid-term elections. We can't take anymore of this kind of obstructionism and flouting of traditions and norms for political reasons. McConnell has made a joke of our democracy. From his perspective, "Its a democracy when I want it to be".

Obama nominated Merrick Garland.

What game does Pierce think Cruz’s blathering was giving away?

Here's one:

"Starting in February 2021 the President may appoint or dismiss a Supreme Court justice with an Executive Order."

What say, Teddy?
