"Legislating from the bench"

That's the battle cry from conservatives when a so called liberal is considered for a high court. They're strongly opposed to judges who strive to write laws. That's the job of congress they say, and they have a point, but here's the thing. Laws aren't written to make things legal. They're written to outlaw something. To make it illegal.

When republicans nominate someone to a higher court, the first acid test is whether they'll do their part to make abortion illegal. The final exam, of course, is if they'll work to get republicans elected.

I don't have a lot to give, so my contributions are going to Senate races that lean dem. You can donate to individual campaigns or there are some PACs that are focused entirely on winning the Senate.
