i really wish Democrats would approach the hearings differently, particularly on recusal

Her, take the usual approach line doesn't cut it.

Leahy touched on how it looks given trump's statements about a 9nth judge.

The question should be how does she reconcile that?

Leahy mentioned how it looks. She should be asked specifically about that.

Just dance around the issues and smile for the camera. Then the vote will be 100% or nearly 100% by party lines. Even if she somehow managed to screw up and the Democrats get her in a gotcha the vote will be 100% or nearly 100% by party lines. Even if she openly lies like Kavanaugh she knows impeachment is impossible so there is zero consequence to lying. If she gets caught in a lie prior to the vote the vote will be 100% or nearly 100% by party lines.

There is no longer any decorum, any decency. There is no scenario where the GOP acting in bipartisan faith forces Trump to replace the nominee who is more qualified and less a partisan freakshow.

Trump didn't happen to the republican party, he happened because of it. McConnell may not be as lewd & crude as the Con, but he's every bit as vile. Then there are the Collins' and Grassley's, who I suspect are secretly horrified at what their party has become but are too cowardly or compromised to speak out. It's hard to have respect for the people in my life who still identify with this party.

and walked out, refusing to be a part of such a vile process. Let the Republicans have their hand-maiden, but let them do it without participation of our party. By staying, we are legitimizing a thoroughly rotten process. Let them have a unanimous vote and full responsibility for her.

A 15 member SC is looking better and better to me all the time. It is time we put a few youngsters on the courts. AOC would be a nice choice as a balance to a religious cultists; that would make their heads explode.

Yes, she's a done deal.

Yes, this is largely a charade.

THAT SAID, trump is on record declaring his intention.

That should be pushed.
