The Constitution didn't even recognize me as a human being when it was first ratified. So, no, I am not a Constitutional originalist.

when the Constitution was written and how people (slave holding white men only) understood it then.

They don't want to tax their lazy minds to do actual critical thinking to adapt and interpret the document to fit modern times. I am amazed that this is all the "big deal" that was made about originalist/strict constructionist Scalia.

What a croc of stuck-in-18th-century, lazy ass thinking this is.

If they applied that thinking to the second amendment, there would never have been any workplace/school mass shootings as white men property owners would only have access to single shot muzzle loading muskets.

But of course they don't. They always find exceptions that benefit right wing extremists.

"Originalists" will claim that they alone know the true intentions of the Founding Fathers, but they repeatedly promote ideas that are contradicted by the writings of the very same people, written at the time the Constitution was ratified.

The Constitution was born of the Enlightenment, these hacks are the leading edge of the Counter Enlightenment. One of the "original" aspects of the document was to be deliberately flexible to account for unforeseen circumstances or technology. All amendments would be unconstitutional by their logic.

Phony Barrett did not qualify to go to law school, be a law professor, to be a judge, to be a supreme court justice, to own property or to vote, 240 years ago and yet, that is exactly where she takes her legal theory from.

So of course she would model her legal philosophy after Scalia, the man she clerked for.

A woman being an originalist is ridiculous because of all the reasons you mentioned, and is beyond comprehension and not original in thinking at all.

It's been done by racist, white men already.

Kind of the epitome of privilege, isn't it.

She has resources and can get out any situation that her legal reasoning gets the little people stuck with.
