'There are no do-overs,' says Jill Biden as she rallies voters in Dallas, El Paso

Jill Biden on Tuesday urged Texas voters to flood the polls in order to elect her husband — Joe Biden — president, and in the process turn Texas blue.

“For the first time in a long time, winning Texas is possible. Don’t you feel it?” Biden said during an early vote rally in Fair Park. “I feel it, too, not just for Joe, but for the Senate and the state House as well. And if we win here in Texas, we are unstoppable.”

Tuesday marked the first day of a three-week early voting period, and Jill Biden made stops in Dallas and El Paso to rally Democrats that have been waiting for years for a do-over against President Donald Trump. Democratic turnout in the Dallas area and throughout the state was exceptionally brisk, observers said.

It's very clear from polling that Biden needs to concentrate on that demographic in Texas. I am a huge believer in Texas Politics Project. They survey Texas all the time. The recent poll had Trump leading 50-45. In looking at all the numbers, many of them are fine except the gender gap is not as pronounced as other states, and likewise the suburban numbers have not moved toward Biden typical of true swing states. Most troubling of all, Trump led 61-39 at age 65+, which is only 5 points better than Hillary fared among seniors. That makes no sense given generational changes and also the current issues impacting seniors.

But instead of dismissing it as bad polling it's obvious Biden needs to target that combo. He can earn in all three problem categories by messaging toward senior suburban women. I really don't think the payroll tax ads have been as frequent or as powerful as they should be. Just come straight out and say your social security ends in mid 2023 if Trump is re-elected.

The other demographic hoisting Trump is Hispanics, who have moved many points in his direction. But that is logical given Hispanic loyalty to a presidential incumbent, regardless of issues, as I have pointed out many times.

I'll link to the age category of the recent poll. But it is easy to click below on other categories like "Gender" and "Location" and "Race", etc. to see the bar chart in every category. I wish every state had a survey firm like this:
