Democrats Dominate Early Voting In Florida
October 14, 2020 at 6:01 am EDT By Taegan Goddard

“Republicans typically hold a slight edge in absentee ballot returns in Florida elections. But this year, there’s been a stunning development,” Politico reports.

“For the first time ever at this stage of a general election, Democrats here are outvoting Republicans — and by a mammoth 384,000-vote margin through Tuesday.”

I am looking forward to a Biden administration and Democratic Congress to make Nov 3. a National Holiday as the FIRST step in addressing our fragile voting systems and eliminating voter suppression.

true story- i worked as an election judge in '08.
that day we had the longest line at the door in any of the elections i worked. in fact, i only ever had a couple people waiting to vote before then.
i am in chicago and tickets for grant park were supposed to be waiting for me downtown.
my then hubs was waiting at a mich ave bar to get them.

i talked the other judges into covering for me so i could go downtown early.
i agree to wait till the dinner rush was over. usually, about 5 or 6, there would be a crowd. this polling place was a half a block from the train station.

the rush never came. everyone had been in a rush to election our favorite son.

the hubs f'ed up the ticket handoff, so i didnt get into grant park. he had been having such a great time drinking w some aussie reporters that he forgot why he was there. and dude w the tix was late. he let his phone go dead.
i was too tired to stand in that line anyway, but...

i nearly killed him. to make it up to me he got on the phone next a.m. and got me a plane ticket and one of the last hotel rooms in dc. in alexandria, the end of the metro line.
but i got to see obama inauguráted. i always tell ppl- it was a guilt trip.

Yes, I'm annoyed at these premature celebration threads so I am repeating myself a bit. But this needs to be said.

Don't celebrate. Don't even think this means anything. Just keep going.

With covid, we have no usable comparison to know what to expect.

To compound this, we've seen big early leads in FL before vanish on election day.
