...but they’ll probably need to get rid of the filibuster first, as there’s no way they be able to get 60 votes with an intransigent Republican minority. And, even if they pass something, who’s to say the SCOTUS doesn’t dream up some reason to throw it out, too?

and then tell the repuke minority to not bother to show up... they will be given NO committee assignments and will not be called on to debate. They can vote but that's it.

Go to the people promising not to enact single-payer (as Biden has from the outset), then say, 'oh well, let's have it anyway'. Would make 'Read my lips, no newtlaxes' look like 'promises made, promises kept'.

Could they pass it even with a majority and no filibuster? Based on the ACA negotiations, I doubt it. Who are today's Joe Lieberman and Max Baucus? People like that are the key issue.
