Florida: "Democrats dominate early voting"

Politico

MIAMI — Republicans typically hold a slight edge in absentee ballot returns in Florida elections. But this year, there’s been a stunning development.

For the first time ever at this stage of a general election, Democrats here are outvoting Republicans — and by a mammoth 384,000-vote margin through Tuesday.

The unprecedented early voting numbers have electrified Democrats in President Donald Trump’s must-win swing state, but Florida campaign veterans warn that it’s too early for the party to celebrate.

“There’s a big wave of Republicans coming. And frankly, that’s a data point that a lot of people tweeting about this fail to realize,” said Steve Schale, a Democratic operative in Florida who heads the pro-Biden super PAC Unite the Country.

“The numbers are pretty staggering for us and the return rates and the polling look good,” Schale said. “But there’s just a lot we don’t know.”

Schale is right. We had an overall lead in votes prior to Election Day 2018 but lost. OrlandoDem2 Oct 2020 #2

t-rump essentially told republican voters that voting by mail is "bad".

Other than republicans, people are fed up and will be voting bigly against this administration.

This election many more registered Republicans appear to be voting for Biden, making the lead potentially even higher. While I'm excited and optimistic by the sheer number of early voters, I agree it's vital to take nothing for granted. There's still a part of me traumatized by '16.

begin until the October 19. That is when we need to start being afraid of Repubs turning out in droves.

that their vote only counts if they vote on Election Day. I’ve seen comments from them being annoyed with the long voting lines and asking why don’t people just wait for Election Day.

And Trump made a massive mistake which he's trying to go back on now. I see ads on Youtube nonstop from Trump telling his voters to vote early.

Voting as soon as you can is important, a lot can go wrong on election day, people who had every intention of voting sometimes can't on that day.
