During the Bin Laden raid a helicopter came down in a "controlled but hard" landing due to mechanical failure. The helicopter was carrying SEALS but they were able to continue the mission. Which isn't surprising when the skill of the pilots and engineering is taken into account.

SEAL Team 6 is a large unit of over 1000 operators. Only 23 men from one of its 6 squadrons took part in the mission. Just like not every FBI agent was present for the apprehension of the Boston Bombers

I'll believe that, but help me out please. The SEAL team that was lost in the Chinook crash (Extortion17) had nothing to do w/ UBL raid?

No. That was DEVGRU Gold squadron. The UBL raid was carried out by Red Squadron. There’s various squadrons within DEVGRU (Development Group aka ST6).

On last point. WE NEVER hear about Seal Team Operations. Yet somehow we know TONS about this one. I find that disturbing and convenient.

Problem with their consp lie coming out now is that this occurred so long ago. I believe there were a lot of theories about the event floated around.
