General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsCNN is showing an ad for "ZShield" right now.
It looks like a regular plastic face shield, except the shield pivots down instead of up.
Showing lots of smiling actors without masks covering their mouths and noses.
Oh, well. I guess it's better than nothing, but I'm almost as disappointed in CNN advertising that product as when they show pro-Trump ads.
Liberal media, my ass.

(14,855 posts)Aerosols certainly have more opportunities to spread with just that face shield alone.
Don't understand how it tilting down will be helpful when eating at a restaurant, which the commercial showed without any follow-through. Serves also as a plastic napkin, apparently. LOL.

(94,592 posts)How would you feel if they didn't run Bernie Sanders ads? Or Green Party ads (assuming they had them)?
I, for one, would prefer that the media not play favorites when it comes to advertising.

(1,139 posts)There is nothing political about a mask, unless you try to make it so. I do not think most people here would care if a mask were sold. In fact, they might encourage it. As quoted elsewhere, this shield is not even better than nothing. It may just funnel the aerosol into your face and nose. Nothing political about people not wanting others to get sick.

(853 posts)It said that it wasn't even better than nothing. It acts like a funnel.

(2,886 posts)seems as if it focuses your breath and whatever is in it upwards for a wider dispersal in a room also would let floating particles in from above (where the concentration might be higher) and of course the no mask wearing is a total loser to me...

(14,855 posts)Surely directs the aerosols upward instead of down toward the ground!

EVERYTHING is different now.
Taking advertising dollars to promote MASS MURDERING FASCISTS is not OK.

(14,855 posts)I'm guessing that an advertisement for an overt white supremacist group would be a line they'd never cross despite the money, but Trump is normal enough for them?

(15,220 posts)It's better they all take anyone's ads.
Also, if you're watching cable, some ads you see are inserted by your cable company, so you might be misjudging the source of the ad.
I listen to MSNBC on satellite radio fairly often. Practically all of the ads are SiriusXM sourced, the same annoying ads they run on all of their non-commercial-free channels. What really gets me is occasionally hearing ads voiced by Bill O'Reilly while listening to MSNBC.
