Just Filled Out My Ballot, My Friends

Grandson will be driving us to a nearby early voting station to drop them off, that is where the official boxes are here in Chicago. We will be putting in four ballots (our own and one each from a shut-in). Three younger members of the household will be lining up for early voting in person. Daughter and her husband will be mailing in, I expect.

I guess George Washington Plunkett's first precinct club-man would have lit my seegar, as I could tell him the total was nine....

For drop-off mail ballots we go direct to the box in the polling room, no waiting. There is one early voting station per ward (fifty in the city). I would say about a hundred fifty people were lined up waiting, well spaced and masked. A sort of helpful holiday atmosphere. People want to get their own licks in early, it seems, and glad to be doing so.
