Hey NBC News here is a news tip

Rather than send an angry email to the corporate bosses at NBC news I thought it might be helpful to send a message that would go to those working at the lower levels in the news room.

Sent this to tips@nbcnewyork.com

Hey NBC here's a news tip:

NBC doesn't want to serve the public interest.

NBC News is more about sensationalism, entertainment, and ad buys than news.

From the time that Trump started with his racist campaign advocating for the re arrest of the innocent Central Park Five and false propaganda about President Obama coming from Kenya NBC has given thousands of hours to Trump to promote false information and undermining our great country.
What NBC should have done is stayed with a single question "Do you still say that President Obama was born in Africa" and not asked another question or broadcast anything else he said until he admitted that he was lying.

Instead we got the "permanent double down" just creating one more false narrative after another so that no one can remember the last one.  Your timing of the Trump town hall to compete with Biden lays bare that you are more interested in your selfish corporate interests than promoting serious public discussion.
And in order for you to get Trump you had to agree to his time frame and you let him pick a third string softball pitcher so that he will be able to dominate and continue to double down.

Here's a real tip:  If you want to show that you have any interest in real news or the public interest have someone there that can fact check the President in real time.

Our first amendment will not be taken away but our media will lose its basic function, not by an outright betrayal but by acceding to an incremental trivialization of professional standards.

Congratulations on your contribution to this degradation. You reading this email in the news room, is this why you studied journalism, why you graduated from college, so that you could give a bull horn to Trump to spread his dog whistles and at the same time divert from a decent American talking to the American people?

Shame
Shame
Shame
Shame

This company has disgraced itself and we will remember this perfidy for years into the future.

For you in the newsroom here is a real tip: Organize a sick out on Thursday. Send a message in mass to the executives. This is your chance to be heard

that we do not condone them putting their fingers on the scales of the election and giving him free air time. This is an in-kind political contribution worth millions. This is totally unethical. I for one will boycott any and every advertiser on this ridiculous sham.

Watched last night's National broadcast. They ran an ad for the latest Apple phone as a news story.
Done with them - and CBS too.

They get most of their ad dollars from big national and multi-national corporations. These companies use their ad dollars as leverage. Ever wonder why ALL OF THE NEWS OUTLETS reported that “Woman spills hot coffee from McDonald's on herself, sues, and gets millions!” They never reported the facts behind what happened because McDonalds did not want them to. They made it look like a frivolous lawsuit. Check out the Hot Coffee documentary.

BP oil spill. After the oil was stopped spewing the networks did little to follow up on the litigation and victim impacts. My boss regularly appeared on all of the networks as a civil legal annalist and wanted to comment on the spill litigation. We knew all of the producers who told us no because they were instructed not to report on the story or BP and the other oil majors would freeze their advertising. Ed Schultz on MSNBC finally did some of this and his show was canceled shortly after.

I am pretty sure their advertisers pushed them to help Trump and Republicans by doing this.

We need to attack the two root causes causing most of our problems:
1. Campaign finance reform;
2. Truth in media requirement like most newspapers usually follow.
