I was driving down W. Saginaw in Lansing and saw an electronic sign on a small convenience

store. It usually advertises specials, but today it said:

Dems: We care about ppl
Reps: No! Wall St

It's owned by the nicest couple from Pakistan. I plan to shop there often.

Up here in Mt. Pleasant, many of the party store are owned by Sikhs and I say "Sat Shri Akaal".

Gas station at night for something to do. One night a little old Mexican man and a young boy came in and bought some snacks. The old man never looked up or said anything. I asked the kid if he wanted a bag and he said no. I then asked him how to say bag in Spanish and he told me. The old man must have asked the boy what I had said. After the boy translated the old man got a huge smile and walked out with the smile. So I guessed no one ever asked him how t speak his language, only asked him to speak English. After that I always tried to learn a word or two in a different language just to make someone feel better. A few weeks later a I couple came in and were using sign language. A few days earlier I saw Obama on tv with a group of deaf people and he used the sign for Thank you and it made every one smile. So I tried it and it really worked and brought a big smile too.
