On the fake ballot boxes: Could someone scan a ballot in an envelope and determine how it is marked?

I wouldn't be surprised that there may be equipment able to do that. Kind of like holding an envelope up to the light but more sophisticated. Then just toss the ones you don't like.

1. There are several layers (at least here), so probably not.

The ballot itself has to be folded and sealed in a tan envelope, which is then placed in the signature envelope, which is placed in the mailing envelope. So you'd have to be able to scan through at least three layers of paper. If it's even possible it would be time-consuming and unreliable because all you could scan would be the filled-in ovals, but you couldn't tell which candidate they were associated with because the ballot would be folded and inserted one way or another. I think this is the least of our worries.

My CA ballot (only 6 big pages long, not a record!) is printed on heavy stock and is folded so the boilerplate and not the votes are on the outside. Only one envelope. I suppose you could scan them and use some sophisticated image processing software* to figure out how someone voted but it would be easier to open the envelope and look. But that would leave evidence that it had been tampered with. The GOP operatives seem to have forgotten that ballots can be tracked by the voters and that California will generally let people cast a provisional ballot if they swear that they delivered their ballot in time and it never got processed.

*there's some cool software that was able to decipher rolled, carbonized scrolls from Pompeii, but that's expensive and not easy to use.

I’m pretty sure the Republicans aren’t providing this valuable public service out of the goodness of their hearts.

* Read the name and address,...

* Look up the name and address on the public voter's roll,..

* Ascertain their party affiliation from the voter's rolls,...

If identified as a democRAT vote trash the ballot,.. burning might be best.

By a miracle and magic trDump gets more votes than he would have,.. absent the illegal tampering with official ballots.

a greater margin than her win nationwide. IMHO, what they're trying to do is shift some key Congressional races in southern counties.

Then if they lose,.. have the new and fully political Supreme Court rule to cancel or invalidate the election.

Appeal,... then appeal again,... then appeal some more,...

So I'm pretty sure they wouldn't hesitate to just open any ballot and take a look at it to determine whether the ballot made it to the county elections office.

No need to open the sealed envelope. The name and address is outside on the "secrecy sleeve" that prevents a "naked ballot".
