General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsIf Biden smokes Trump in the ratings we'll love NBC for airing Trump. NBC's usual viewers
will be watching Joe. Trump followers will hate having to tune into NBC, and many don't even get MSNBC. You know they only pick packages that have FOX "News", and only happen to have MSNBC if it's included.
Trump may have set himself up for another humiliation. Kind of like stepping on a rake in a pile of dog shit!

(21,163 posts)I hope the Aris , Joy, Rachel and Lawrence call in sick tomorrow in protest.
If MF45 is well enough to do a town hall the hes well enough to to do the debate he chickened out on.

(10,879 posts)I think thats five networks.
Biden will be on only one, ABC broadcast.

(109 posts)It reeks of a ratings ploy. I do think Trump of a dummy for doing it.
He is not going to be able to control the audience or the narrative. He will fuck it up.
I just hope it isn't Chuck Todd doing it.

(9,959 posts)... do not agree. The voters/viewers deserve better... not stunt counter-programming mandated by Trump. Biden's appearance was set... NBC should never have accepted this scheduling. They deserve to be boycotted.

(16,616 posts)NBC/Telemundo. Joe is only on ABC. Trump will pull in viewers from five vectors.
I hope he does kick Trump's ass in the ratings, but it won't make me happy about NBC's extremely poor judgment.

(34,857 posts)Biden is boring. He's competent. He's not going to get too off script. Sure, people used to joke about Biden being undisciplined and getting sidetracked or saying something that makes you do a double take...but he's run a very disciplined campaign these last few months. In contrast to Trump, he's downright disciplined.
People will tune in for Trump because he's unpredictable and coming off a wild two weeks where his debate performance was largely panned and he was stuck inside due to COVID. People like a circus and he's likely to give them that more than Biden. Unfortunately, the idea that substance will bring in the ratings is questionable.
I think Trump will win the ratings and gloat up a storm.

(21,163 posts)That said lets see what happens with the boycott. The coward MF 45 wont do a debate but will do a town hall. What a frickin coward!

(38,505 posts)...is like an in-kind contribution to the Biden campaign. I'm confident that this one will be no different. I'll be watching Joe, knowing that the salient points from the Trump Show will dominate the media for an excruciating amount of time.

(4,673 posts)in a Town Hall. I dont mean less unhinged in his conspiracy claims, etc, but in demeanor. He wont be as outrageous as during the debate or when hes crazy high on his crowd, but none of it matters at this point. He cant get more voters.

(1,235 posts)in Bidens favor. There will be less people to see if he makes one of his gaffs and more will see Trump get dragged and embarrassed by voters...like his last townhall

(11,949 posts)The president wants to do an hour and they give it. Later they will give it to Biden. And it will get lots of views.
And we all know(as does NBC) that the worst thing trump can do right now is be trump. Which he was tonight.
The contrast between trump and Joe, in my mind, was the best thing yet on TV for Biden.
To paraphrase Napoleon, when your opponent is making a mistake dont interrupt him.
Trump would have been better off sitting in the White House and letting Biden have the evening.
