No, Todd insisted; if the public was misinformed about the Affordable Care Act, it was the president’s fault for not pushing back:

It’s sad that NBC‘s White House correspondent thinks his job is merely to convey politicians pronouncements, with no care about whether they are true or false. In fact, scrutinizing claims, particularly those from powerful officials, is an essential part of journalism. It’s embarrassing to have to cite elementary principles to one the nation’s most influential reporters, but Todd should consider reviewing the Society of Professional Journalists’ Code of Ethics, where, under the heading “Seek Truth and Report It,” the very first tenet implores journalists to “test the accuracy of information from all sources.”

Todd isn’t alone among influential journalists claiming that factchecking sources is outside their job purview. Back when I first started watching C-SPAN (Washington Journal in early am), he was a moderator.

I didn't have much of an opinion about him one way or the other, but after seeing the article in this OP, I now suspect that he might be the source where Trump is now saying that Steve Scully is a Never Trumper.

Scully has never shown his colors one way or the other that I have ever seen. Recently, Scully's Twitter account was hacked, it is being investigated by the FBI, but it seems that there was an all out effort to discredit him prior to the debate.

And somehow, I just have this gut feeling that Toad was at the center of it.... I don't know this to be a fact, but I bet it is true.

Toad was involved in a Dem running for President during the Iowa Caucus back in 92'. Instead of trying to turn out voters for his Candidate in Iowa,he was doing Campaign Stops in Minnesota at the Chef Cafe and Truck Stops along I 90.
