got a z-pac and prednisone (maybe because I already started it and have to taper) and an inhaler for lungs
I am just so grateful
thank you for all your prayers and thoughts.
I was sooo scared. I had just had my last chemo shot 2 weeks ago.
Fever hasn't been over 99 all day
can go back to work Friday unless fever tomorrow

(3,282 posts)I had the exact same thing a couple of years ago. I suspect that it was brought on by a common coronavirus, because they those can infect the lungs and cause lung issues. My fever never went over 99.5, but it stayed there for several days.
I had the steroids and the inhaler too. Took me about 2 or 3 weeks to feel like my lungs were back and I didn't need the inhaler anymore.

I'd prefer to hear that you were taking Friday and the weekend to R&R, though. There is very little that's as good as rest to help you recover.

(4,251 posts)(retired 1 1/2 yrs), I understand. It takes patience, empathy, flexibility, creativity, etc, etc. And the sharing of germs just comes with the territory, especially with students that may be impulsive, have special physical needs, feeding issues, and just like to be close and "share".
