If Trump, by sheer ratfuckery, manages to get "elected" again,

I fear that for the next four years, Covid will be raging in the country like the forest fires this year.

Look how he’s dealt with it so far. What makes anyone think he’ll change?

I know, I’m no optimist.

of some 120,000 cases per day (with much better testing we are likely finding 40 to 50 percent of positives)... it will take 5 years to reach "heard immunity" of 224 M Americans (at 70%). That will take more than 5 years.

I would expect that the rate of infection will increase as the virus becomes endemic (pervasive). so maybe less than 2 years. However, at that rate of infection, we will not have the hospital resources to save even half of the number of patients we are saving now... so 3 Million people are likely to die as a result.

Hopefully there is a vaccine that is both safe and effective in the next 12 months.

So maybe only 1 to 1.2 Million of us will die if this horror show of an administration is allowed to continue.
