Enjoyable convo with my dad today (sarcasm alert)

My dad as I've talked about before is a staunch conservative. But he hates Donald. But decided to ask if I voted yet. I told him not yet due to work and surprisingly long lines here. This is where the conversation goes out the window.

He tells me. Vote for your favorite president. I said I wish I could vote for Obama a third time. he meant Dump. I proceed to say. Even with a gun to my head, I'd rather them pull the trigger because I'd never vote for that piece of shit.

He then goes into more about shit he voted for less crazy because a vote for Joe is essentially a vote for Kamala as president. In mind my I'm like...oh here we fucking go. I said I in fact would love Kamala to be the first woman president. Shes a bad ass woman.

To end it. It didn't end bad. I simply told him I'll see him soon and my vote cancels his out and plus two in my household also going to Joe, MJ and down ballot Democrats.

Did I mention I don't really care for my dad? I changed my last name so I wouldn't be totally associated with him.

He worked for the federal government and didn't like it when one party was in control for too long. W caused him to lean a bit more towards team D, but trump has really flipped the switch. He's not as much of a firebrand as my mom, but even he's arguing, unprompted, that the Democrats have no choice but to expand the supreme court.

He works as a paramedic at pantex. Which is a nuclear weapon dismantling facility. He hates the government and yet works for it. Plus he is a huge racist.

I'll never understand how I'm his son soon to be daughter

I avoid the topic with my Dad. He's a staunch Reagan-Democrat Bothsiderist who has 4 adult children, every one a near-Socialist.

The only hard right ones are in different locations around the country. One friend is a dem, the other two are libertarians.
