Two simple reasons why NBC did a Trump Town Hall

They had a programming gap in their schedule due to the debate scheduled for tonight.

...because now there's no way to convince the CPD that the final debate should have the town-hall format planned for the canceled second one -- and that format would have been even more effective for Biden if people could see him and Trump simultaneously handle the same questions from the same crowd. I don't think Trump could have survived that being the final impression of the campaign.

if the bulk of the audience was on the network. If NBC really had a gap in their schedule which is just a theory, it was a faulty decision to broadcast the town hall on 3 channels and give that fascist a platform when he backed out of the debate. Rewarding bad behavior is never a good idea.

15. ABC didn't "give" Biden a show all to himself. Biden kept his commitment.

Trump and his campaign committed to a debate and then backed out of it. Biden was ready, willing, and able to debate in a town hall format and kept his word. NBC rewarded Trump's bad behavior. ABC held a town hall with the candidate who plays by the rules.
